Visit Canada’s West Coast- See Vancouver and Victoria
The two big V’s of the west coast Canada are the amazing cities of Vancouver and Victoria. Both are extraordinary cities to visit. Vancouver is the larger of the two. It is a metropolitan city that is found tucked away in the southwest corner of the province of British Columbia. Victoria, which is the capital city of the province, lies at the south end of Vancouver Island. It is approximately a 30 minute flight away from Vancouver. If you take the ferry instead, then it is a 1 ½ hour ride.
If you plan to visit British Columbia then these are the cities that should be at the top of your itinerary. Both cities are considered to be among the cleanest as well as most attractive cities across the globe. Vancouver is situated in such a way that the sea meets the mountains. In this city, which is the third most populated in Canada, it is possible to sail, ski and swim for the majority of the months of the year. If you are energetic enough you might even be able to do two out of the three activities all in one day! A trip to Vancouver is one of Canada’s most population vacation destinations. Victoria has the mildest and most comfortable climate in all of Canada. For that reason many people want to visit there as well as live there. Victoria is a city steeped in history, color and plenty of entertainment. You can visit art galleries, museums, gardens, zoos, landmarks, the lovely Inner Harbour and an abundance of parks. You will never run out of things to do in this amazing pacific coast city. Here you will find a perfect mix of both relaxation as well as excitement. Victoria has everything you could want while on vacation!
There are certain activities that come highly recommended when you visit Vancouver and Victoria. After all a vacation to British Columbia wound not be complete unless you ventured to both of these special Canadian cities. In the daytime board the ferry from Tsawwassen in Vancouver and Schwartz Bay in Victoria and take the ride of your life through the beautiful Gulf Islands. While there are many Gulf Islands to marvel at the five most well known ones are Salt Spring, Pender, Saturna, Mayne and Galiano. Once you arrive back in Victoria treat yourself to another pleasure- take a scheduled sea plane, West Coast Air, back to Vancouver.
Still other things that are worth doing on your trip include having high tea at the Fairmont Empress Hotel in downtown Victoria and strolling through the majestic beauty of the Butchart Gardens. Stop and take a moment to enjoy the tranquility of the waterfalls within the park. You may fall under the spell for sure! Stroll through Beacon Hill Park and Laurel Point Park. Visit the British Columbia Museum. Go whale watching in both cities. Before you leave for home make sure that you take a gondola ride at the Grouse Mountain Skyride in Vancouver.
