Travel Bargains and Travel Deals
In recent years, we have seen a growing trend when it comes to vacations. Today, the number of people choosing to visit top US travel destinations opposed to traveling overseas is quite impressive. While the economy probably has some influence over this trend, some experts believe that life events such as 9/11 have also helped in that people now realize the importance of supporting the wonderful country in which we live. In fact, along with a greater number of citizens spending vacations within the country, sales of products made in the USA have also increased.
Just as with foreign countries, you could have the same exciting, tranquil, thrilling, and romantic experiences with any of the top US travel destinations. Literally whatever type of vacation you want could be found in America. With this country being so diverse, you could travel to the majestic Rocky Mountains of Colorado, surf some of the finest waves in Malibu, California, visit ancient ruins in the state of Arizona, or escape to a slice of paradise visiting Maui, Hawaii. To give you some ideas to mull over, we have listed a few popular choices.
Las Vegas, Nevada
Although Las Vegas may not be for everyone, this city certainly attracts millions of visitors every year. Las Vegas is a mesh of activity, a vibrant city with high energy, and a city open 24 hours a day. While Las Vegas offers many exciting things, one in particular is the diversity of adventures from day to night.
For instance, you could take a guided tour to any of the tourist attractions outside the city to include Hoover Dam but then at night, spend time dodging in and out of casinos that line “the strip.” Of course, this city is also home to some of the finest performing arts in the world, seen in different forms such as comedy, animal acts, and more.
New York City, New York
Fondly called “the city that never sleeps”, New York City has long been one of the most intriguing of all US travel destinations. Until a few years ago, people were drawn to this city for three primary things.
1. Times Square – Every New Years Eve, it is from Times Square that the giant ball drops to represent the start of another year. Times Square is comprised of bright lights, animated signs, and the hustle and bustle of people milling about.
2. Central Park – This massive park has long been a favorite place for people to gather or visit. Making your way through Central Park, you would see a mirage of people to include young couples strolling hand-in-hand, parents pushing baby strollers, individuals playing Frisbee with their dog, students reading under trees, or musicians sitting on park benches.
3. Broadway – As locals say, you have not seen New York City until you have seen a Broadway play. Although off-Broadway is another great way to enjoy the arts and for less money, going to a Broadway play is something that most people have on their bucket list.
Unfortunately, on September 11, 2001, the United States was forever changed when the Twin Towers in New York City were brought down by terrorists who flew commercial planes into the buildings. Today, we need to add “Ground Zero” as another place worth visiting. Although extremely sad, stopping by to pay respects for the people who lost their lives is a touching moment you would never forget.
Venice Beach, California
If you love to people watch, Venice Beach would be considered one of the best US travel destinations for this hobby. Without doubt, Venice Beach offers non-stop entertainment, as seen in people walking around with parrots or large snakes on their shoulder or people of all ages spending time rollerblading or roller skating.
It is also common to see food vendors, small shops lining the beach, musicians playing in anticipation of someone dropping a few coins in the cup, and artists who busily sketch the faces of people on the beach or the landscape itself without a care if they sell anything or not. Of course, the standard sun worshipers lying on the sandy beach and surfers riding waves are also a part of the Venice Beach scenery.
Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Boston Massachusetts
Throughout the United States, unusual malls and shopping areas, such as The Great Mall of America in Minnesota, are easy to find. However, unless you have visited the Faneuil Hall Marketplace in Massachusetts before, you should definitely add this to your list of top US travel destinations. This shopping district has become such a cherished attraction that it is visited by more than 20 million people every year.
Comprised of the Faneuuil Hall, North Market, South Market, and Quincy Market, this area boasts old cobblestone streets, as well as food vendors, jugglers, magicians, musicians, and other performers. Then to eat, you would have a choice of over 100 restaurants, as well as quaint shops.
